I graduated from Nederland High School in 1998.
I graduated from Lamar University in Beaumont in May 2002 with a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Skills. I have a specialization in Math and Elementary Education.
I graduated from Lamar University in Beaumont in December of 2009 with my Masters in Educational Administration.
I am highly-qulaified to teach Math, Reading, and Science. I also have my G/T endorsement.
I have be co-coordinating the UIL Academic teams for the last few years..
I have coached LCJH’s Cross Country team. Our girls team won district 2 times and received 2nd place. Boys received 4th place.
I have been LCJH's Technology Champion for the last few years. I have spoken at TCEA several years about adding 21st Century skills to curriculum as a class and added into existing classes and also about using Microsoft Teams in a classroom setting.
I am a MIEE (Microsoft Innovative Education Expert) for 2020-2021. I was chosen out of a world wide group to represent Cohort 7 (Texas, Louisiana, and Arkansas).
I have attended CAMT math conference for 7 years. I have also attended and presented at TCEA.
I have spoken at the Mobile Mania conference at Region V three times about technology integration into a normal classroom setting.
I have been teaching at LCJH since August of 2002. I have taught 6th, 7th, 7th Honors, and 8th grade math. I have taught study skills, reading, science, robotics, 21st Century Skills, Intro to Technology and Multimedia.
While going through college I was a tutor for elementary and middle school students and also for remedial math at Lamar Institute of Technology. These experiences gave me a love for teaching and helped me to be creative when approaching new ways of helping students learn.
I am married to Jeremy since March 17, 2001. We have two children. We have 2 dogs.
As a family, we fish and hunt. We also enjoy our garden, over the last few years I have even learned how to make and can jellies, jams and salsas. By myself, I enjoy running and reading.
In the past, I have completed 3 half-marathons (13.1 miles) and 4 10k’s(6.2 miles) and 25+ 5k’s (3.1 miles).
That is 641.7 racing miles and over 2,000 miles for training and 9 pairs of training shoes.
We lost our house in Harvey and Imelda but we are in “one-piece” again.
