Role of the School Counselor

Comprehensive counseling programs are designed to reach as many students as possible. 

LCJH Campus Assumptions

  • By utilizing a comprehensive approach, the LCJH counseling program aims to reach every student on campus.
  • Teachers, parents, community members, administrators and the school counselor work together to meet the academic, social and emotional needs of LCJH students.
  • Every student and staff member on campus is an integral part of setting the overall tone for our campus climate and culture.
  • The counseling program aims to be proactive in equipping students with life-long skills to aid in personal growth.

Individual Counseling
Students may speak with Mrs. Stout for one-on-one help with short-term issues that may impact their ability to focus and learn. Refer by email. Please include student name, concern and level of urgency when referring. 

IMPORTANT NOTE: It is not the role of the school counselor to provide ongoing therapy. If ongoing mental health concerns arise, Mrs. Stout will contact the parent/guardian and provide information for referral to appropriate resources.
